Cockade Vest by Eleonora Pronello
90 Euro
This piece is the result of a reinterpretation of the traditional Scottish kilt, here rendered as a waistcoat. Completely handmade, it is characterized by and asymmetrical shape and a green tartan pattern. Easily removable, to be placed and styled as preferred, the white cockade is just the cherry on top. It refers to the cockades that are usually added to the kilt during celebrations, by Scottish royals or guards.
The piece makes part of the first edit by Eleonora Pronello, an emerging fashion designer, currently attending the BA Fashion Design course at IUAV in Venice. Her work is mainly based on her interest for analysis and research, of several significant issues - to violate and rework them. She translates and transpose these themes, into her personal and visual imagination, focusing on a daily and natural language. In this capsule, she explores the concept of tradition as appropriation, exaggeration and violation. Starting from a research on traditional Scottish clothing, she analyzed the various uses and meanings of each piece and elaborated them by incorporating her personal imagery to their most characteristic details.
